What are Header/Sender Id Types in India?
Headers are classified mainly into 2 categories – Promotional and Others (Transactional, Service Implicit, and Service Explicit)
For Other category SMS, Header should be of six alphabetic characters. It must be a unique combination of six characters representing your brand or company name.
For e.g. Header can be VFIRST for Entity ValueFirst.
For Promotional SMS, header must be of numeric digits. It should be a unique six digit string where first digit must be according to the business category. Your Header name must begin with the numeric digits. Example of Promotional Headers is 473232, 783456
· Type of template/ Template Category / What are transactional, Implicit, Explicit and promotional messages.
Transactional: Transactional SMS can only be used by Banks to send OTPs and alerts.
Service Implicit: Service Implicit SMS is used to send OTPs, informational messages, booking and order alerts to your registered customers. These should not be intended for marketing. Confirmation messages of a net banking or a credit/debit transaction.
Service Explicit: Service Explicit SMS is used to send offers, discounts, or updates regarding services to existing customers. SMS does not get deliver to Full DND in case content data not there in DLT.
PROMOTIONAL SMS: Promotional SMS is used to send offers, discounts, or promotions. The messages may or may not be solicited by the recipients. Promotional SMS can be delivered only to the Non DND numbers within 10 AM to 9 PM.
