What are segments? How do I create a segment?

Segmentation is the division of email subscribers into smaller segments based on a set of criteria. Typically, segmentation is used as a personalization tactic to deliver more relevant emails to subscribers based on their geographical location, interests, purchase history, and much more. Segments are created so that the marketer can cater specifically to each different email list and that list’s independent interests, rather than creating one mass message for all.

To learn how to create a segment, please follow the steps below:

Log in to your Octane account.

Click on the client's name on the left side.

On the Dashboard, click on the Manage subscriber's section.

You can either select Manage your segments or click on the cogwheel next to the list name.

Listed below are the two ways you can segment your list:

On the basis of the contact list.

On the basis of executed campaigns.

After selection, set the criteria of the segment and click on save the segment.
